About Course

Students will be engaged in active learning as they are taught to
master the identification, pronunciation and writing of long and short vowel sounds,
numbers 1-50, long and short consonant sounds.
They will also master the identification and pronunciation of short vowel three-letter
words and long vowel four-letter words, phonograms such as sh, ch, au, th, etc. Spelling
exercises will also be provided according to their grade level.
Students will also be given opportunities to improve reading, writing and thinking skills
by practicing reading comprehensions, fiction/non- fiction stories and engaging in writing
exercises. By the end is their final term, students should be able to read and identify
vowel and consonant sounds. They should also be able to spell words relative to their
grade level. Students would have better understanding of sentence construction and
gathering the main purpose of stories read.
